Communication is key.

Image
Hurricane Michael knocked out Communications for many, there’s no question about that.  Whether it was a Cell Tower, Satellite, Cable, Community Power Outage, Mail Delivery Service and beyond, no matter how you slice it, it’s been challenging for us all to keep constant lines of communication open.  Having said that, Communication is key in the Claims process and to help, we’ve mapped out the steps in the Public Adjusting process just so you know what to expect. What steps can I expect in hiring a Public Adjuster? Where are the Insurance Carriers now?

Image
It’s a head-scratcher, to say the least.  Truth is, these Insurance Companies are either out in the field hoping to make a quick low-ball Settlement using inexperienced staff they’ve just hired and or they are ignoring their Policyholders entirely.  It’s a preposterous situation. What exactly is Noble seeing? The first of these situations is the quick low-ball Settlement Offer.  What we’ve seen over the last 4 weeks since Hurricane Michael is Insurance Companies offering twenty cents on the dollar.  That’s it.  We are also seeing these Offers come in excluding items such as Debris Removal costs even though they should be included.  If a Policyholder has consistently paid their premiums why then are these Insurance Carriers only offering pennies on the dollar and blatantly disregarding the Policy?  Once again, the answer is it’s all about their profit and their bottom line. The second situation we can be more specific about.  A family we are hel...

Can I move forward with Mitigation?

Image
Mitigation is a process where steps are taken to secure or protect a property from further damage. If your property was damaged by Hurricane Michael and you are needing to move forward with Mitigation, the quick answer is yes, you can, even before you hire a Public Adjuster.  Issues on your property such as Hazardous areas and Water Damage usually make it necessary to take immediate action to prevent individuals from getting hurt and to keep mold and mildew from growing.  What Mitigation information do I need for my Claim? Above all else, you will want to document absolutely every process of the Mitigation work done on your home or your business.  Take Photographs and Videos of the damage as well as any cleanup and any work needed to secure the property.  Typical methods are Tarping your roof to prevent more water from entering, boarding up broken windows and doors and drying methods to clear water from floors. Documenting these things is THE most important step ...

Let’s get engaged.

Most of us want to help after a Catastrophe but many don’t know how.  Do you send money?  Do you jump in your truck and drive to the scene?  Is it safe?  Where will you stay?  These are just some of the questions people need answers to and we at Noble Public Adjusting Group can offer some basics. How can I help after a Hurricane? After this kind of catastrophe, we should be our best by coming together and sharing what we have.  We have to realize people are vulnerable, emotional and fearful of what lies ahead and we should be the kind of people who will be there for them, who truly care and are willing to provide the help they need.  If you are local and have properties available, one of the most important things you can do is open your hearts and doors and give your community members a place to stay.  If you have running water, realize it is a precious and crucial resource, not everyone will have it or be able to access it and we should prov...
